Laura Gallard-Klenner, Center for Mathematical Modeling & Univ. of Chile, Chile IGAC SSC member email: lgallard (at) dim.uchile.cl
Dr. Laura Gallardo is an associate researcher at the Center for Mathematical Modeling (CMM) in Santiago, Chile and is adjoint professor at the Geophysics Department (DGF) at the University of Chile. She got a PhD in Chemical Meteorology at Stockholm University (MISU) in 1996 and has developed various research activities including extensive international collaboration leading to various publications in peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests are atmospheric modeling at regional and global scales, biogeochemical cycles, electrical discharges and oxidative capacity of the atmosphere, air quality/mega cities, and aerosol-cloud-climate interactions. At the moment she is leading the scientific network and project South American Emissions Megacities and Climate (SAEMC), and she an active participant of the VAMOS Ocean-Atmosphere-Land Study (VOCALS). She has served as a member of the Scientific Committee of the International Global Atmospheric Chemistry (IGAC) for the period 2003-2009, and she has been elected as a member of Commission for Atmospheric Chemistry and Global Pollution (CACGP). At the Department of Geophysics, University of Chile, she teaches courses on atmospheric chemistry models and global change. At the Department of Mathematical Engineering she teaches inverse modeling. She has lead several theses in engineering and atmospheric science.
