The Atmospheric Chemistry and Climate Initiative ("AC&C") was endorsed in March 2006 as a joint effort of WCRP and IGBP, with the SPARC and IGAC projects tasked to take the lead in its implementation. Under AC&C, our aim is to help the community interested in the modeling of chemistry climate interactions by:
a) defining gaps in the current representations of processes controlling chemistry climate interactions;
b) assisting in filling those gaps;
c) defining simulations relevant to the inter-comparison of AC&C models;
d) defining the metrics used to evaluate the behavior of AC&C models;
e) facilitating the inter-comparisons; and
f) using models to better define observational strategies.

The goal of the First WCRP/IGBP Atmospheric Chemistry and Climate Workshop will be to engage key communities and, with these communities, to formulate a concrete road map for AC&C.

There is very limited space available at the workshop.
Interested parties should contact Sarah Doherty of the IGAC Core Project Office.
