The 4th International Symposium on Biological and Environmental Chemistry of DMS(P) and Related Compounds will be hosted by Gill Malin and colleagues at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, U.K. 2-6 May 2006. This symposium follows the highly enjoyable and successful meetings that were held in Alabama, USA in June 1995 (R.P. Kiene, P.T. Visscher, M.D. Keller and G.O. Kirst [eds.], Biological and Environmental Chemistry of DMSP and Related Sulfonium Compounds. Plenum Press), Groningen, The Netherlands in August 1999 (Journal of Sea Research Volume 43, Number 3-4, August 2000) and Rimouski, Canada in September 2002 (Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences Volume 61, Number 5, May 2004). We are in discussion with a couple of journals concerning a special issue of papers from the 4th Symposium and we will announce the details as soon as we can. Please anticipate that manuscripts will have to be submitted by 2 May 2005 to ensure timely publication. We have set up a dedicated web site at http://lgmacweb.env.uea.ac.uk/lgmac/dmsp/. Information will be added as details are finalised (e.g. registration fee, accommodation costs and booking procedure, abstract and manuscript submission, social events etc) and further circulars will be distributed by eMail.
